The American Language Course (ALC) is a comprehensive set of materials designed, tested, and used at the Defense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC), Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

The test materials below were developed by the Foreign Language Department of the Chinese Military Academy to best prepare our students to perform well in order to qualify for training in the United States or reason that the Ministry of National Defense needs qualified English-trained officers.

Before checking the test preparation material below, be sure to learn the following three words:

Glance (v) to take a quick look at something

<he glanced at his watch>粗略一看,瀏覽

Operate (v) to perform a function, to use a piece of equipment

<he will operate the elevator>操作

Blur (v) to make cloudy or confused <alcohol blurs a persons vision>使模糊不清

Those three words are the ones that occur most frequently (頻繁地) on the listening section of the ALC placement test and therefore it is most efficient (效率高的) to learn them first.
