Since extracurricular activity has become an important attribute in graduates for most colleges and companies, the Academy is committed to providing opportunities for all cadets to participate in clubs, organizations, and activities. The Academy now sponsors 25 clubs in five categories. Each club is overseen by a faculty advisor and run by cadets. Through years of assiduous participation some clubs have forged excellent traditions and attained outstanding results. |

Clubs that have, in the past, been particularly popular include the Whampoa Choir, Band Club, Dance Club, Photography Club, and various sports clubs. The Whampoa Choir repeatedly won military competitions and always performs remarkably. Cadets are allowed to partake in the club that responds to their recreational interest, so as to contribute to the balanced education of morality, intelligence, physical training, teamwork, and aesthetics and provide a solid military foundation for their officership and leadership.
